Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What should I expect?
A: I start with a thorough evaluation to determine the CAUSE of your symptoms. The evaluation consists of a movement analysis along with a joint specific evaluation. Then I devise a treatment plan to address your impairments and help you reach your goals. The treatment plan usually includes manual interventions along with corrective exercises. Additional treatments such as dry needling, iontophoresis, phonophoresis, and blood flow restriction training can also be added based on your needs.
Q: Where do my sessions take place?
A: It depends. My home clinic is fully equipped with anything we might need to address your problem. The clinic is located in Farmington Hills, MI. However, I treat many clients in their homes. For certain conditions, I am able to transport all the equipment needed to your residence or office. It is common that sessions start out in your home. Then, as you progress and if it fits your needs, we transition to having sessions in my home clinic where we can utilize larger items such as the squat rack.
Q: What is your schedule for appointments?
A: I schedule by appointment only. I do not hold traditional office hours as many people need early mornings or later in the evening. We can work together to find a time that works best for your schedule.
Q: Do you take my insurance?
A: Instead of contracting with insurance companies, I enter into an agreement with you, the client, directly. In my experience, this type of arrangement is a more effective use of our time and of your health-care dollars. This structure benefits you because it allows all therapy sessions to be one-on-one. Traditionally, insurance driven PT clinics require modifications to your regimen in order to maximize insurance reimbursement. For example, the therapist treats multiple patients at one time, requires more therapy visits, offers shorter therapy sessions, and/or generalizes treatment. This ultimately costs you more time and money. The fee-for-service structure prevents all of those modifications, saves you time, and for most people, will actually cost less than the average round of insurance-based PT.
Q: What type of payment do you accept?
A: Movement Specialists of Michigan, LLC is an “out-of-network” provider and is a fee-for-service practice. Payment is accepted on the day of the appointment. For your convenience, I accept various payment options – cash, check, venmo, HSA, FSA or any major credit card.
Q: Can I submit a claim to my insurance company for reimbursement of your services?
A: It depends on the type of insurance that you have, but typically, YES! I would be happy to provide you with the necessary documentation and codes that you need to submit a claim for potential out-of-network reimbursement. However, I cannot guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you for the service.
